Oops Blogoversary, Your Favorites, and Thank You!

I missed the exact date. But that's no reason to miss the celebration! This silly blog was two years old on September 7th! Can you imagine? I, who was Never Going To Have A Blog, have been at it for two years.

I went back and looked at that Very First Post. I said, "Blog, blog, blog: it's the new blah, blah, blah." I wrote a little story about public poopage way back then! And I included an excerpt from the novel, most all of which has been cut from the rewrite. (Not the Run! part; but it's been changed and moved.)

I introduced you to a Very Old Dog and we said goodbye to him.

I laughed with Lady Maria ...

And visited with a Nekkid Neighbor .

And said goodbye, after a Lifetime of Laughter. Little sweet pea.
We extolled the virtue of Support Socks! Remember?

We laughed at the notion of being considered SEXY!

I shared some fiction, one I wrote about Santa, which got shared a LOT, thank you so much!

And the most widely read and shared post of all, a three part short story about a Rescuer, and the dog she rescued, Joe.

The horse short story has already gotten almost as many reads. Looks like you are sharing that one, too. More thank yous!
Here is a piece I wrote the very first week of the blog, which you might have missed.
I've made new friends, and reconnected with old ones. You've supported me through a rather challenging year, and put up with certain rants and pity parties.
I hope in return I've been able to bring you a smile or two, and a good kind of cry once in a while.
I sure do want to say a most heartfelt Thank You!
So I think I'll do a random draw from the comments on this post and send a free, signed copy of Mama Pajama Tells A Story.
And, if you would, for me, please hug your hounds!

  1. I still laugh out loud at the "sexy" story. I am owned by cats, but love your dogs and their adventures. Greetings from Paris, TN!

  2. Yours was the first blog I found, through one of your Paducah neighbors, then through that I found Joe Stains and Laurie and then I said, maybe I'll have a blog myself and talk about rescue a little. And then, and then and then it just got to be more fun right along. So is this where I say, Thank you? Yes, Thank you!

Congratulations on a blog well written and well read.

Your stories gave me the courage to love and to release my heart dog at age 12.

You give me hope that my new whippet, Flynn, alias "Rambo", will one day appreciate the local city cats and not want to rip them apart. (Squirrels, however, will be a bigger challenge)

You helped me reach way inside through the entry about the beautiful music that arrived just in such a timely fashion to help with that unwelcome visitor, Grief.

And the art.... and the hugs to hounds.... so much more

    Thank you!

    Kathy and Flynn
    always Stardusted

  21. I am so glad I found you. I remember the day/night because I was on another dog blog and you had commented. I clicked on your blog and low and behold you and I were from the same town. Small world this internet can be.

  22. I absolutely adore your blog. Look at it everyday. But don't put me in the drawing. Remember, I have a personally signed copy. Its such a fun book so whoever wins it, enjoy every word. I did and still do when I re-read it.

  23. I love your blog and check every day for new stories. I've laughed and cried with you, and now feel we're practically related! Thanks for sharing your whippets with us.

  24. Congrats Patience, this is no minor milestone and you have covered much ground. It's been great following you, and I am sure I am not the only one who thinks the best is yet to come.

  25. Happy Second Blogoversary! And many more to come!
    You know we love you!
    Kisses and hugs

  26. The one and only Blog I read!! That says it all. Love you and the dogs!!!
    Happy anniversary!!

  27. Like so many others, I read your blog daily - it's uplifting, real, and beautifully written - thank you for being there for all of us, through thick and thin
    p.s. i also have a copy of the book which I re-visit when i need a boost

  28. Happy blogoversary! Old Girl and I would love to read your book (she might have to help me a little). ;P

  29. Happy Blogoversary, Patience, and thanks for adding sunshine (and sometimes tears) to my morning cup of coffee. I would be hard pressed to decide which of your posts is my favourite- and reading this blogoversary post reminded me there are still posts from your first year that I have not read - they await me like a delicious novel on a bedside table.

  30. Squeek, Leo and Belle, along with Simon and Helen and all of the random city cats who come and go from the front porch say "Hey whippet dogs, you're actually pretty cool, for a bunch of dogs, that is." Happy Second Blogoversity! woooo-woooo-woooo!

  31. Congratulations. I've enjoyed every minute here. Hounds hugged!

  32. Patience:
I stumbled on this blog from somewhere in blogland, and I bookmarked it and come back regularly. My poodles wonder about the whippets that have visited - Joey was here for shows, and he looked at them and thought Bunnies - then it was Oh, Barking Bunnies! Then, it was OH, BARKING BITING BUNNIES! And, while this means nothing to the Waggle, it means much to me, and so does your blog.
I hug the fluffs all the time, and I send you a cyber-hug for all you've been through.
Hug yourself my dear - you more than deserve it.

  33. your blog was one of the first blogs i had read. your writing inspired me to try my hand at sharing bits and pieces of my life. you are still inspiring me.
    congratulations and best wishes!

  34. By the way...if I don't win the signed copy of the book...can I send my unsigned copy to you to have signed...I'll include return postage.

  35. Thank you, everyone for your kind comments! Helene, of course, I'd be happy to.
I'll do the drawing tomorrow and post the results on the blog. Woo-hooo!!!

  36. Well. A very belated congratulations. We never considered the idea that coming back to catch up after an almost three month hiatus would nudge us to come back to go all the way back to the beginning. But we will. And one of the first posts we'll go to will be the Rescuer. A story near and dear to our hearts. And we're sure it's beautifully told by you.

    And thank you.
    Jake and Fergi xxoo

Love your comments! Love them we do. Don't be bashful! Thank you for visiting :-)
