Fun Monday #14

Our Fun Monday host this week is Mariposa and she assigns -

Collections... We all have them...and if you don't, you do....you just may not realize it. For some reason or another we all collect something and we collect it for reasons that will definitely make for good reading. So on Monday, I want to see your collection. If you don't have or don't want or CAN'T (wink) show us a picture, then tell us what the collection is in 10 words or less. Then tell us why you started collecting it.

Um... no brainer here.

"tell us what the collection is in 10 words or less"

LOVE: Giacomino, Maria, Charlie, Mama, Luciano, Delia, Sammy, William, Lindy.

"Then tell us why you started collecting it."

I didn't. They started collecting me. And they make me a better person, and they make my life fun, and exciting, and rewarding, and complete. Lucky, lucky me.

Now have a look at the other Fun Monday participants!

  1. I collect Whippet/ greyhound figurines and art. My son tells me I'm going to end up like some old crazy cat lady, accept with whippets!

I point out to him that " someday all this will be his!"

( If I could I would collect more of the real thing!) Never enough!

  4. I tried to cover up my craziness in having so many dogs and claimed that the whippets collected ME. Hmmm. Trying to deny the craziness isn't working, is it? :D

  6. Oh yeah! We need some more terriers around here! Muzzer can read your post today for inspiration. Two does not a collection make, right? But we know her collection and Dad's, BOOKS. Personally, we like your collection better.

  9. I think our collection has to do with rescue. We were all rescued by Grammie. She seems to be happy with all of us. I know we all get lots of attention and treats.

  10. Patience, you, Celeste, and AOJ are getting me all soft-headed about these wonderful creatures. Are they truly as lovely as they seem in the photos? When it's time for another dog, I've also been thinking about a greyhound from our local rescue. My Willie is almost 12 years. Have to be careful that he doesn't hear me from his yoga mat under the desk. . .

  13. Careful, Faye! They're more addictive than potato chips, or chocolate. Or anything. And one thing leads to another and you're up at 3:59 AM trying to catch up on your blog... goodness!

  15. Why, of course, you have a living collection.

  16. This will be very embarrassing:

Collection 1: Wire fox terrier "stuff" (not to be confused with our two live versions).

Collection 2: Camels (for the last 23 years -- since I received a tin wind-up camel that seemed to warrant a companion, etc. etc. Grand total at present: 175 or so.)

Collection 3: Cardinals. Caveat: must be male and female together. Reason? The St. Louis connection and they are beautiful.

Collection 4: Insulators (the male side of the collecting mania).

Collection 5: Books: fiction, dog books, politics, art, history, etc.

Collection 6: Paintings/posters,photographs particularly by local artists whenever we visit a new place.

Collection 7: Seahorses. This is the newest and most modest -- prompted by the discovery that the males are the one who bear children.
