Bill's Work

(Click on any image to enlarge, then use your back button to return.)
Worley Road, watercolor, 9" x 3"

Bill has been creating an absolutely delightful body of work for an upcoming show with two other Lowertown artists. The show is titled Wee Three, and all the work will be miniatures.

Seeing as how I have Special Privileges, I get a daily preview. And since I owe you Dear Readers a great deal, I thought I'd share.

Oh my lands! Mr. Webster defines delightful as giving great pleasure; highly pleasing.

These little pieces are highly pleasing, indeed. And because they are miniatures, their price will give great pleasure also. I look forward each evening to see his day's creations.

Small Fall, acrylic, 6" x 6"

Looking Out, acrylic, 6" x 8"
I included this one, because it's not a typical Renzulli, but I love it!

East Point Lighthouse, acrylic, 8" x 10"

Is it just me? Or do you find them as fun as I do? If you want to see many many more, fix yourself a cup of tea or coffee, or grab a glass of wine if it's that time of day, and go to Bill's blog.
Just keep clicking on "older posts" - it is a nice journey.
If you are a local reader, the reception for the show will be at Leaping Trout Gallery (on Madison between 7th and 8th Streets) on October 9th, from 5 - 8 PM.
It's a beautiful day to hug some hounds!

  1. Bill has such a distinctive style and subject matter. It is amazing to see those vast skies reduced to miniature without us loosing our sense of awe.

  9. Bill is so gifted! They are just so lovely! Particularly love the Worley Road and East Point Lighthouse. There's such a feeling of serenity just looking at them. Is that a cow in Looking Out? Such a sweet cute face that catches your attention the moment you look at it.

  11. Yes, Barry, I think you nailed it. That's why these miniatures are so delightful. They retain all of the majesty of a 48 x 60" painting, only in tiny scale.
Yes, Happy, it's a little Hereford steer looking at the artist, and it is charming!

    Thanks everyone!

    hugs-

  12. Like everyone else, I love all of them, Patience. But when I scrolled down to "Small Fall" let out an involuntary "Ah!" Love miniature paintings, even thumbnail sketches that are done in prep for painting.

Looking at the first painting I'm reminded of some farmland just outside of Paducah. I used to work with a young farmer--believe their last name is Baumer--who raises vegetables on his land. Thought of them when I saw Bill's first painting. Do you know this family?

  15. Thanks Jeannette! Bill's first solo show was in Wilmington Delaware (another GREAT art city) in 1977, and he sold every single piece of work he showed! He is a Signature Member of the Pastel Society of America.

But I will take tons of pictures of the show for sure, and share them here!

Faye, I don't know the Baumers. (We've only lived here for 7 years now, and we've met a slew of great people, but there are still tons of folks we haven't met yet.) But Bill loves to drive in the surrounding counties and photograph, so it might well be.

Thanks everyone for your nice comments! And for those of you far away - don't dispair! He's only charging S & H of $5 (in the USA)on these miniatures. :-)

  16. The first painting, symbolizing fall is very beautiful. I love the choice of your colors for the leaves. They are burning orange, very close to rust (my favorite color)

  17. It's that time of day. And Moma grabbed a glass of wine. But she won't come back to Bill's blog (now bookmarked) until she catches up with yours. But she did really really enjoy the little trip back into autumn's colors.

    Thank you. Thank Bill.
We hope the show went (?) well.
