Ariel, one of my dearest dear readers, left the following comment:
... you are SO lucky to be so happy with your life at home that you don't want to
leave it!
Yes! I am! And no, I don't!
Not that we didn't see beautiful places. Here is the sunrise from our last day in Castel Nuova:
Made even more special, knowing that Bill's grandparents looked at this same sunrise, 100 years ago.
Here at home, on this gorgeous autumn morning, are the views that make my heart feel whole.
Fat Charlie worships his god, the sun.
Maria says, "What?"
Friends stop by for kisses.
And a Very Old Dog, who was as goofy as a puppy on his walk this morning, won't stay far enough away from me to get a good picture.
Home.
Hug your hounds
Welcome back.

ReplyDeleteThere really is no place like home.
ReplyDeleteHome is definitely where the heart is!
ReplyDeleteYour pups sure look content, Patience!

I agree. It is so nice to go away for a few days but it is better when you come home!

Lorenza
Welcome home! So glad you had a great time, and the whippets were so well cared for!
ReplyDeleteP.S...I was at Keeneland friday and excitedly on my way to the betting window to bet on one "Xela" until I realized he was scratched. poop. I noticed it was a claiming race and hope he's just avoiding being claimed or anything else that involves him doing well.
welcome home. and lovely lovely pictures. there's a special place in my heart for Very Old Dog.
ReplyDeleteI also picked up on Ariel's comment and thought what an astute person she is. I too love my home and am never bothered if I don't get away on holiday. I sometimes feel that the people who are always going on holiday are searching for something in life which they haven't got - satisfaction and happiness!
ReplyDeleteLook at that pink snooter. We love being home too, love it more than anything.
ReplyDeleteFully understand. When I travel it's not long before I'm looking for the "Dog a Day" photo. Once I remember holding this German shepherd while his owner went in a shop in an English village--heaven!
ReplyDeleteOh boy, can I relate. We just returned from a very happy beach vacation...very happy because we took both dogs with us! It's just the hardest thing to leave them. We are all so attached to each other. Welcome home!! I know you are relieved to be there.
ReplyDeleteVery nice! And sweet!
ReplyDeleteBig kisses to all the dogs!
XOXO
