Home Again

Thank you all for your kind understanding of my craziness!

Ariel, one of my dearest dear readers, left the following comment:
... you are SO lucky to be so happy with your life at home that you don't want to
leave it!

Yes! I am! And no, I don't!

Not that we didn't see beautiful places. Here is the sunrise from our last day in Castel Nuova:

Made even more special, knowing that Bill's grandparents looked at this same sunrise, 100 years ago.

Here at home, on this gorgeous autumn morning, are the views that make my heart feel whole.

Fat Charlie worships his god, the sun.

Maria says, "What?"

Friends stop by for kisses.
And a Very Old Dog, who was as goofy as a puppy on his walk this morning, won't stay far enough away from me to get a good picture.
Hug your hounds

  1. As my dear father in law would say,,it is fun to go away but a lot more fun to come home!! Love PL2 and A+A

  2. There really is no place like home.

  3. Home is definitely where the heart is!
Your pups sure look content, Patience!

    Love ya lots,
    Maggie and Mitch

  4. I agree. It is so nice to go away for a few days but it is better when you come home!
    Kisses and hugs

  5. Welcome home! So glad you had a great time, and the whippets were so well cared for!

P.S...I was at Keeneland friday and excitedly on my way to the betting window to bet on one "Xela" until I realized he was scratched. poop. I noticed it was a claiming race and hope he's just avoiding being claimed or anything else that involves him doing well.

  6. welcome home. and lovely lovely pictures. there's a special place in my heart for Very Old Dog.

  7. I also picked up on Ariel's comment and thought what an astute person she is. I too love my home and am never bothered if I don't get away on holiday. I sometimes feel that the people who are always going on holiday are searching for something in life which they haven't got - satisfaction and happiness!

  8. Look at that pink snooter. We love being home too, love it more than anything.

  9. Fully understand. When I travel it's not long before I'm looking for the "Dog a Day" photo. Once I remember holding this German shepherd while his owner went in a shop in an English village--heaven!

  10. Oh boy, can I relate. We just returned from a very happy beach vacation...very happy because we took both dogs with us! It's just the hardest thing to leave them. We are all so attached to each other. Welcome home!! I know you are relieved to be there.

  11. Very nice! And sweet!

Big kisses to all the dogs!
