Just some quick photos. I'll write a story when it isn't so gorgeous out. (And explain the exciting comments from the last post.)
Mama Pajama, who is eleven and Very Old Dog, who will be fifteen in two months, cordially invite you to go on their walk around the block.
Very Old Dog say, "Coming?"
Mama Pajama
ignores pee mail; Very Old Dog reads every message.
He amazes me.
Whee! Hurry up, Mama Pajama!
A bonus! We meet a favorite friend.
And then, sweet dog dreams.
hug your hounds, especially the very old ones
Fun walkie!

The old doggies are so awesome! I took my 11 yr. old grey (Princess Lily) and my 14 yr. old Eskie-Lab mix to an event to promote rescue today. We were greeting at the door, so my 'toddle-girl' old lady dog didn't have to walk around in the day care romping area (she would have been knocked off her pins there), but she kept getting up and trying to toddle back there. She still wants to go and play, but I insisted she stay and get pets and "awwws" from people and just sniff noses with the younger dogs. She had fun, but after 3 hours, she's completely zonked (and snoring away) on the couch. The Princess is keeping her company, as Princesses should have to work that hard (as far as she's concerned), even though she did even less, since she prefers to only sniff other greyhounds!
ReplyDeleteAll dogs have individual personalities, but older doggies have really special ones!

Wow - What super healthy & beautiful seniors!
ReplyDeleteHot Dog!
Loves the old ones! Nike sends special hugs to Mama Pajama - he wouldn't have started writing without her... :-)
ReplyDeleteOh what a lovely walk with the Senior Citizens!! I remember when my late dogs got too Senior-ly to walk so I went to the Salvation Army store and got a stroller and pushed them so they could enjoy the sunshine and sniff the air. It looked crazy but I did not care! ... and OMG!!!!! The comments in your last post!
ReplyDeleteMy four country-living seniors say hi to Mama Pajama and Very Old Dog. They would like to know what that hard white stuff is that they are walking on and that funny looking black "tree" V.O.D. is sniffing. They think Very Old Dog might like to come sniff the interesting pee-mail in their pasture.
ReplyDeleteGiacomino certainly looks like he had a spring in his step!
ReplyDeleteSuch a beautiful day to bring out the youthful spirit of older dogs. They're so beautiful and serene, I just want to snatch them up.
ReplyDeleteBeautifully done. I really enjoyed my walk with you.
ReplyDeleteI wonder who that is in the Patriots shirt??
ReplyDeleteYou are never too old for peemail!! Looks like a great day outside, glad you enjoyed it!
ReplyDeleteGreat to see your camera capturing the bliss of being elderly ....also happy you are finding time to write and show us your sunnier world....
ReplyDeleteOh that looks like fun! Gordy likes to read pee mails too and he always leaves a reply. Our person said she wishes she could reach through the computer screen and hug the dogs. Great photos!
